Samsung cuts price of upcoming NC10 netbook
Remember all that talk about netbook price cuts? Well how about price cuts even BEFORE the netbooks get released?? Samsung is lowering the price of their upcoming NC10 netbook from £329 ($580 U.S. dollars) to £299 ($527 U.S. dollars). According to Dinest Chand, Samsung’s notebook product manager, “This decision was made to reflect the current trend in the mobile computing market and our commitment to ensuring Samsung resellers are in the best position possible to supply customers with the highest-quality product possible at a competitive and attractive price”
This price cut would seem to indicate that there are strong downward pricing pressures on many netbook manufacturers. With Samsung yet to fully enter the market, they need a product that will competitive to what is currently available. The NC10 is a 10.2 inch netbook featuring a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, up to 160GB of disk space, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, three USB ports, a special anti-bacterial keyboard, and Windows XP.
