The Picobook Pro fails to impress ZDNet UK
ZDNet UK is out with their first impressions of the new Picobook Pro by Apricot Computers and let’s just say.. if first impressions are all you have to go by then the Picobook Pro appears to be a letdown. Let’s recount some of the issues that David Meyer came across:
- Getting SUSE Linux configured was a pain
- “Keyboard is awful but .. no more so than the keyboard on say, the Eee 900”
- Incredibly small trackpad (see picture below)
- System won’t sit flush on the a flat surface
Actually by the end of the article, I couldn’t help but laugh at all the problems he found with that netbook. Finally, to make matters more interesting, Mr. Meyer did a little snooping around and discovered that the Picobook Pro is in fact a rebadged FIC CE241 netbook pictured below. Nice.. yeah I think I’m staying away from this one.
