The processor was found to be swappable but major modification was needed for adequate cooling, and as of yet there isn't a simple solution, most of the posted cpu swaps are severely underclocked from the capability of the swapped cpu (still faster though from the stock L110) and unstable without the appropriate cooling mods required…

I know the battery life would be cut in half or more, and it would void the warranty, but is it doable? Could the power supply and cooling handle this sort of thing? Will the motherboard recognize the processor or do you need some sort of software or hardware clock setting thing? Is the processor soldered on or socketed?

it's a shame Flash is a cpu-hog. thats something Adobe should be responsible for, making the flash plug-in scaleable, theaded, and add the possibility for hardware-acceleration is the only way flash video will ever be useful on netbooks such as this l110 or the n280 cpu.

I didn't have an issue with SATA/IDE drivers, only the video and touchpad.

Any idea what touchpad drivers you are using to keep the multitouch etc.

The driver actually comes from MS Windows Update. You definitely need to hook it up to the Internet to get the right display driver. Where exactly did you find the AMD/ATI chipset driver? I find the southbridge ATI driver from ATI and manually forced to load the ATI SATA/IDE controller drivers for Win 7 64 bit.

I just purchased this same system and installed Win7 x32 RTM on it but can't get the video drivers to work. I also installed the AMD/ATI VGA chipset from the Gateway support website but this didn't work, I am stuck at 1080x768 and can't go up to 1366 nor access the Catalyst Control Center.

I was able to get the wireless working without much issue but I'm having trouble getting all of the touchpad functionality back. What drivers did you install for the touchpad?

Any ideas on the video?
