Kingston announces 2GB HyperX SO-DIMM for netbooks
Clearly looking to capitalize on the popularity of netbooks, Kingston Technology announces the release of the new 2GB HyperX SO-DIMM memory module for the netbook market (although perfectly usable for regular notebooks also). This new SO-DIMM features faster latency timings (CL3-3-3-8) which should result in faster overall system performance. Of course without actual benchmarks on hand, it’s impossible to say how much of an improvement this memory module will provide for a netbook system. Given the pace of the Intel Atom processor, having a lower latency memory module may not buy you much at the end of the day. The 2GB HyperX DDR2 SO-DIMM is available for an MSRP of $35.00.
