Gigabyte M1028 convertible netbook passes the FCC

Comments

Gigabyte M1028 Cafebook

Gigabyte’s upcoming convertible netbook – the M1028 – has apparently cleared the FCC which would signal the upcoming availability of the netbook here in the U.S. The M1028 (listed as the M1028 CafeBook) features an Intel Atom N280 processor (1.66GHz clock speed), support for up to 2GB of RAM and 250GB of hard drive storage space, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and optional support for 3G or WiMAX. The documentation lists the M1028 as having an 8.9 inch touch-enabled display but SlashGear thinks this is an error and expects the unit to come with a 10inch display instead. Expect to see either a four cell 4500mAh or six cell 7650mAh battery on the M1028.

UMPCPortal looks at the Gigabyte M912M netbook and it’s oh so sweet

Comments

Excuse me a lil bit while I clean up my drool. You see, I just looked at UMPCPortal’s video review at the Gigabyte M912M netbook and man.. I’m practically sold on it. At first glance the M912M looks like any other netbook – especially with specs such as an Intel Atom processor running at 1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Ah but yes, this netbook was also a convertible netbook – which meant the display was in fact a touch-screen display. But still.. a Tablet PC in the form of a netbook? Could it really be pulled off successfully? After viewing the video – I would have to say yes. So without further ado – watch the video!!!

Oh in case you’re wondering where to get one of these bad boys – mobilx webshop has it for €497 inc. VAT
