PC World’s hands-on review of the ASUS N10
If you’re looking for another perspective on the ASUS N10 netbook, check out PC World’s hands-on look at the new non-Eee PC netbook from ASUS. The system they checked out had a 3 cell battery, 160GB HDD, 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and of course Windows XP Home. Some highlights from the hands-on include:
“What stood out most about the N10, aside from its stylish casing and hefty price tag, was its larger keyboard, which includes a nice sized trackpad with left and right click buttons at the bottom of the pad.”
“Boot-up time on the N10 was not very good at about 42 seconds for Windows XP, though Asustek plans to install its Linux-embedded OS, Express Gate, on the devices to give them a start-up screen that opens in about 8 seconds”
And.. the verdict:
“Overall, I liked the N10 even more than some of the premium Eee PCs that Asustek markets. It will be a good competitor to premium netbooks that fetch higher prices.”
LaptopMag’s hands-on look at the new Samsung NC10 netbook
LaptopMag has published their initial hands-on look at the new Samsung NC10 netbook which just became available here in the U.S. The article’s got a ton of pictures as well as a short video clip too. Here’s an excerpt from the article:
We had a chance to put our hands all over the NC10 a few weeks ago. As you will see in the video below, the netbook sports a seriously spacious keyboard (93 percent the size of a regular keyboard, Samsung says), which we think can rival the MSI WInd’s title of best netbook keyboard yet. As for the overall fit and finish, we were happy with what we saw and felt. Samsung knows how to make a good piece of electronics and now a good netbook.
Head on over to LaptopMag for the rest of the hands-on look.
